The process
How a piece gets here

Found
Estates, downsizes, dealer trades, the occasional auction. We look at far more than we buy. Most of it goes back on the truck.

Verified
Labels, joinery, hardware, veneer, and period-correct construction. If the evidence is partial, the listing says “attributed to” and explains why.

Restored, carefully
Structural work first, finish last, original hardware kept. We stop before a piece stops looking its age. Patina is not damage.

Photographed honestly
Six angles, daylight, no staging tricks. Wear that matters gets its own frame rather than a careful crop.

What we say and don't say
Attribution is a claim, not a mood
“In the style of” means we see the influence and no more. “Attributed to” means the construction, materials and history line up but the label is gone. A named maker means there's a label, a stamp, a catalogue match, or documentation we can show you.
That distinction is the whole business. It's also why the archive stays online: you can see everything that has passed through, at what price, in what condition.

Getting it home
Shipping & delivery
Nothing here goes in a parcel van. Case goods and seating ship blanket-wrapped with furniture freight carriers; fragile glass, marble and sculpture are crated. Quotes are per destination and given before you commit. No estimate-at-checkout surprises.
Local delivery includes placement in the room and removal of packing. White-glove and inside-the-elevator jobs are arranged in advance so nobody discovers a stairwell problem on the day.
Every piece is one of one, so sales are final once shipped, which is exactly why we'd rather you saw it first, in person or on a video walkthrough.
